Confidence and self-esteem interventions aim to change the way an individual views themselves, others or their circumstances.
Indicators of issues with self esteem maybe:
- Struggling with inner security and peace
- Avoiding social contact
- Having little confidence
- Undermining yourself
- Avoiding tasks
- Saying negative things
- Having a low sense of self-worth
- Needing a boost of confidence prior to a specific event e.g. performance or an interview
What can be done to help with low self esteem?
If the individual’s confidence or self-esteem is linked to specific situations or events, this can be addressed during sessions.
Similarly, if the person requires a boost of confidence, then this can be the focus of the sessions.
The person will be given the opportunity to reflect on how different confidence-boosting techniques affect them. Confidence and self-esteem interventions can be carried out in person or virtually.
